Well done Linda.
SvaraRadera"The first H&M magazine OF the year is here. As usual loaded with TONS of inspiration..."
"... a mail I have received. I have translated it into English (capitalized). I couldn't copy it from the mail so I TYPED it in"
Formal text: A list of items in a CV is indeed part of a formal document, but not really a very instructive example of formal language. This is partly because the items in a list of degrees included in a CV are not sentences.
"... when I searched for 'cv in English' at www.google.com" ("when I googled 'cv in English'")
"... contains simple language with ordinary information and it doesn't follow any rule." ("it doesn't" - third person singular pronoun + verb form)
All language follows SOME rules or it would not be language (the aspect of communication is the foundation for language). But I know what you mean - informal texts do not adhere to the same rules (or as many rules maybe) as formal types of writing do.
Your own informal text is great, although I think most native speakers would say "he HAS to be" even in an informal text.
Your own formal text is a little confusing, as though you are trying to explain to someone who has never heard of soccer what it is, and then you may not use very formal language anyway:
"IT IS a game between two teams who STRIVE to kick the BALL into the net. The games often PLAY in two HALVES. Each HALF IS 45 MINUTES LONG and the break between THE HALVES is often 15 MINUTES LONG.
Soccer is often SAID TO BE the most popular sport in the world and FIFA says that about 240 MILLION PEOPLE in 200 countries play soccer."
Good job!
